That's interesting, but I think it's more complex than that:
1) I have two machines (both XP) with VRPC (both 4.02); both of
them used to produce pdf files with PrintPDF, and one still
does, but the one on which I tried the new beta HostFS now
doesn't.
2) On the latter machine I get GhostScript trying to produce
the pdf. An extensive error message then appears, and a
zero-length pdf appears in the destination directory, so I
think the path to the PS file must be being recognised.
I think that HostFS must be a red herring, and that there's something
wrong with the setup on one machine. I've even deleted and reinstalled
PrintPDF and GhostScript on that machine, and the problem persists. I
think the next stage is to remove and reinstall the PostScript printer
driver.
In any case it's diminished in importance for me; I used to use
PrintPDF a lot as neither VRPC machine was connected to a printer, so
I would transfer the pdf to the Iyo and print from there; thanks to
the Archive on Line list I've now got the printer on the network, so I
don't have the great need for PrintPDF any more. However, it would be
nice to know what's going on!
With best wishes,
Peter.
