Easy peasy, I already have a shortcut to the printer on my backdrop, so I
can access it without wading through the above.
Yes it is the Default printer.
Print queue window on display.

It does display in the queue window as you note, but only for a couple of
seconds, then is vanishes... Obviously still not to the printer.

Something else worth mentioning, just in case relevant.

In the HP Laserjet properties window, Tab "Sharing" has it ticked to Share
with other computers... I've also tried this with it unticked, no change.

Tab "Ports" has it assigned and ticked to a USB port. Virtual Printer port
for HPLaserJet5P.

All other printer USB ports are unticked.

Tab "Advanced"
Always available. ON.

Priority. is at my setting of 55 thought I have pushed this up to 99 or
down to 1 in a tryout, but no change, so it's back at 55.

Spool print document so program finished printing faster. ON.

Start Printing immediately. ON.

Print Spooled documents first. ON.

Enable advanced printing features ON.

Tab "Device settings" entries are correct.

Cheers and thanks for the thoughts.
