[Virtualacorn-list] HostFS on Windows

Hello,

This may be a known issue, I have not been following recent
developments that well...

I think I am on the newest version of HostFS, today I installed the
HostFS update from the VA-website, just in case I did not have it
before (any way to check which updates are and are not installed?)

I am on the release candidate for Windows 7 (64 bits), in case that
matters. And VRPC-SE. RISC OS 4.39.

I got problems with Zap, the cause seems to be HostFS. Within
!Zap.Modules.!ZapMJE.UK there are two files: Menus and Menus/src
(well, they are in my Iyonix copy and my VRPC copy anyway). Under
Windows, these files were initially called Menus, fff and
Menus.src,fff.

When accessing Menus under RISC OS, the filename under VRPC for
some reason changes name to Menus.txt. From then on, there is a
problem: The file is visible under RISC OS but it is not
accessible. When I doubleclick it, I get an error
"...!ZapMJE.UK.Menus not found".

If I now doubleclick the Menus/src file, this file will also change
name to Menus.src.txt.

If I then doubleclick Menus, it /seems/ to open and the error does
no longer occur. However, the file opened (and saved and so on) is
in fact Menus/src.

Is something wrong with my installation? There sometimes goes a
long time between usage of VRPC and therefore it is sometimes
difficult to know which updates to install. It might have something
to do with that. HostFS says it is 0.59 from 01 Jan 2006, which
does not seem to reflect the recent changes, although I suppose
that is because it is only the Windows part that is updated.

Cheers,
Jan-Jaap
